I have had profile balancing with Tara and I can honestly say it's been life changing. I no longer hesitate to do anything, I do not think about hiding my face when I smile or laugh or from the side. I only wish I had had the treatment done long ago. The new clinic is beautiful 😍 Tara is amazing she puts you at ease there is no pressure to treat and explains everything treatment is virtually pain free and only the teeniest of bruising. Emma on reception is wonderful very welcoming and makes you feel relaxed. I can not wait to get a few more tweaks.

What Is Deep Gum ?

Dental Deep Gum treatment, also known as periodontal scaling and root planing, is a non-surgical procedure aimed at treating gum disease and restoring gum health. During the treatment, the dentist or dental hygienist carefully removes plaque, tartar, and bacteria from below the gumline, reaching deep into the pockets surrounding the teeth. This deep cleaning process helps to eliminate infection, reduce inflammation, and promote gum tissue healing. The benefits of Dental Deep Gum treatment include improved gum health, prevention of further damage to the supporting structures of the teeth, reduction of gum bleeding and inflammation, and the prevention of tooth loss.

CLINICIANS

I have now visited Twoth on three different occasion... The first time was to take my son (8 years old) to see Dr Counihan for a braces consultation and my son absolutely loved the entire experience from start to finish. In fact, he was so excited and relaxed about it all he wanted to get started immediately.

The second time around, I went to see Dr Counihan myself for a second opinion and found the experience just as good as my son did

Before I found Dr Neil Counihan I had a long history of dental trauma and sadly I repeatedly was subjected to very poor dentistry. I was scared to let anybody near my mouth and teeth. I had lost hope!

Dr Counihan made me the promise, with the right care I can keep my mouth healthy and definitely keep my teeth for the rest of my life.

And most importantly he made me feel safe and listened to

The duration of the treatment depends on the severity of gum disease and the number of areas requiring scaling and root planing. Generally, it can take one to two appointments of about one to two hours each.

While Dental Deep Gum treatment is an effective way to control gum disease and promote gum health, it may not completely cure advanced stages of gum disease. However, it can significantly improve the condition and prevent further progression.

You can usually resume your normal activities immediately after the treatment. However, it’s advisable to avoid eating hard or crunchy foods and follow any specific instructions provided by your dentist.

Dental Deep Gum treatment focuses on removing bacteria and reducing inflammation, allowing your gums to heal and potentially reattach to the tooth surfaces. However, regrowth of lost gum tissue depends on the individual and the severity of gum disease.

Coverage for Dental Deep Gum treatment varies depending on your dental insurance plan. It is recommended to check with your insurance provider to determine the extent of coverage.

The procedure is generally safe, but some individuals may experience temporary tooth sensitivity, gum tenderness, or slight bleeding. These side effects usually subside within a few days. Your dentist will provide aftercare instructions to manage any potential discomfort.

The frequency of Dental Deep Gum treatment depends on the severity of gum disease and your overall oral health. Your dentist will recommend a personalized treatment plan, which may include regular maintenance visits every three to six months.

It is generally safe to undergo Dental Deep Gum treatment during pregnancy. However, it is important to inform your dentist about your pregnancy and any medications you are taking to ensure appropriate precautions are taken.

If left untreated, gum disease can progress and lead to more serious oral health issues, such as tooth loss, bone loss, and increased risk of systemic health problems. Dental Deep Gum treatment is crucial in preventing the further deterioration of gum health and maintaining overall oral well-being.
