What are All on X ?

All on 4 dental implants are regularly referred to as ‘Smile in a Day’ or ‘Teeth in a Day’ because, as you might surmise, the entire surgical procedure is carried out during one visit to our location. Follow up appointments will be required, but they will not usually feature any invasive orthodontic work.

Traditional implants, on the other hand, are fitted over several visits, which can span weeks, or even months – a huge problem for many, especially those with work or family commitments. In terms of convenience, All on 4 implants can’t be beaten.

But what exactly are All on 4 implants? Well, an implant of this type is intended to replace an entire arch, meaning that it will replace all teeth on the upper or lower jaw. However, you won’t need to have 14 individual implants – instead, everything is securely fixed in place using just four implants.

Benefits of All on X

There are several benefits to All on X, which is why it’s such a popular option with many patients in our London practice. We’ve gone over just a few of the All on X benefits below.

Immediate Results

The most obvious, as well as most important, advantage to All on X implants is the fact that they offer instant results. You’ll walk into our clinic dissatisfied with your smile and leave just hours later with an entirely transformed set of teeth.

Of course, we won’t simply abandon you after your procedure. Instead, we’ll insist on seeing you for follow-up appointments, to check progress and ensure there have been no unexpected issues. During these visits, there will be no invasive procedures performed and most appointments last for around 20-30 minutes.

Permanent Solution

All on X is a permanent solution to missing teeth. Implants are attached directly to the bone in your jaw and cannot be removed. This means that All on X implants are not the same as conventional or snap-in dentures.

The permanency of All on X dental implants is a huge advantage. No longer will you have to go through the rigmarole of the nightly denture routine, and nor will you have to worry about misplacing your dentures. What’s more, All on X dental implants are exceptionally simple to clean – just brush them as you would normal teeth. You will be taught how to do this at our clinic multiple times and we will ensure checking on your performance in every review appointment.

More Affordable Than Traditional Implants

There’s no way of denying it: traditional implants can be exceptionally expensive, especially if you need to replace a significant number of teeth. This can make them unrealistic options for many, despite the fantastic payment plans we’re able to offer to our clients.

All on X makes replacing multiple missing teeth affordable utilising 4-6 implants only to replace 12 teeth. We’re able to offer such affordable prices for All on X implants as the procedure is less time consuming than traditional implants. We are fully transparent in our fees and our honest approach has gained Mr Aldaadaa thousands of new friends as he always says “full arch patients are friends for life”. However, we will ensure to provide you with a tailored treatment plan including break down of appointments and fees once we finish our initial consultation and scans. Everyone is different and it is not one fits all.

Pain Free

Having All on X dental implants fitted is a virtually pain-free procedure. You will, of course, receive a local anesthetic before the procedure begins, ensuring you won’t feel a thing during the procedure, and our experienced surgeon will make sure you remain comfortable throughout your visit. Some patients opt for intravenous sedation option which includes insertion of a plastic canula in their arm to administer a medication that makes them relaxed and sleepy (not sleeping).

After the procedure, you might experience some localised discomfort, but this should not be serious and can be managed at home with painkillers prescribed by the surgeon.

After Care of All on X

Keeping proper oral hygiene

Patients should continue to practice proper oral hygiene from the moment their All on-4 implants have been fitted. However, we advise patients to only brush using a soft bristle toothbrush immediately after the procedure and to avoid brushing surgical sites. Brushing should happen at least twice daily; we also recommend flossing daily. Water flossers can also be fantastic for keeping implants looking great.

Get plenty of rest.

Although the surgery won’t stop you from leading an active life immediately afterwards, we recommend you rest easy for a few days. The rest will boost recovery and help ensure the areas around the implants heal properly and quickly.

Stay hydrated

Staying hydrated is always advisable, but particularly after you’ve had any type of surgery, no matter how minor. Staying hydrated will be hugely beneficial to your recovery, so we recommend always having water to hand.

Be careful with what you eat

Once your All on 4 implants have been fitted, your dentist will talk you through exactly how to care for them. Please stick closely to their recommendations, as they’re designed to ensure the initial success of the procedure, as well make sure you keep your implants in great condition for years.

Meet The Dental Team

CLINICIANS

I have now visited Twoth on three different occasion... The first time was to take my son (8 years old) to see Dr Counihan for a braces consultation and my son absolutely loved the entire experience from start to finish. In fact, he was so excited and relaxed about it all he wanted to get started immediately.

The second time around, I went to see Dr Counihan myself for a second opinion and found the experience just as good as my son did

Before I found Dr Neil Counihan I had a long history of dental trauma and sadly I repeatedly was subjected to very poor dentistry. I was scared to let anybody near my mouth and teeth. I had lost hope!

Dr Counihan made me the promise, with the right care I can keep my mouth healthy and definitely keep my teeth for the rest of my life.

And most importantly he made me feel safe and listened to

Frequently Asked Questions

Find the answer to the most common questions. Everything you need to know about All on X

Standard implants require each tooth be attached to the jaw individually. Therefore, replacing an entire bridge would require 14 different implants to be inserted. With All on 4, this number is reduced to just four, which support the entire bridge.

Using just four implants means less invasiveness, faster results, and lower cost. What’s more, the result is equally as impressive as if you had individual implants, and often better.

After an initial assessment, the invasive part of the procedure – i.e., when the implant posts are inserted into the jaw – is carried out over just one day. We will also insert a temporary bridge after this, so you go home with a new smile after just a few hours.

You will then need to return once the jaw has healed and have your permanent bridge attached, which isn’t invasive and takes only a short amount of time.

This varies depending on several factors, but you can be sure that All on 4 dental implants are far cheaper than the main alternative – individual implants. The difference in price is usually significant, with All on 4 coming in far cheaper than the £20k plus it would cost to fix 14 individual implants.

We’ll be able to give you an accurate quote on the cost of your All on 4 dental procedure once you have attended our clinic in London and had a consultation with a specialist.

If you have active periodontal disease, you will be encouraged to bring this under control before getting All on 4 implants. This can be done in a variety of ways – a dentist can advise you on your best path. However, once the gum disease has been remedied, there’s a good chance you’ll be suitable for All on 4 dental implants.

If you’re unsure as to whether you’re a suitable candidate for All on 4 implants, we encourage you to book an assessment, where an experienced dentist will examine you and provide you with a list of options.

It is generally the case that no bone grafting will be required before the All on 4 procedure can take place. This is because the All on 4 implants are inserted in the front of the jaw, where bone is stronger.

However, if you do require bone grafting, we can also complete the procedure for you, in a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Your dentist can speak to you more about this if required.

No, the All on 4 procedure is not painful, as we will administer a local anaesthetic before any invasive dental work begins. After the procedure has been completed, there might be some discomfort, but this can be managed using household painkillers, such as ibuprofen and paracetamol.

No, they aren’t. All on 4 dental implants are attached directly to your jawbone, so can’t be removed, unlike dentures. The permanency of All on 4 dental implants is one of the main reasons why so many opt for this treatment.

All on 4 and All on 6 dental implants are essentially the same thing, aside from the fact that All on 6 relies on six, not four, implants inserted into the jawbone. While All on 6 provides more stability, it’s not always suitable, usually due to a lack of jawbone on which to attach the six implants required. In this instance, All on 4 can be the better option.

Both All on 4 and All on 6 work exceptionally effectively and look fantastic. Your dentist will be able to work with you to decide which is best for you. Please note that we offer both the All on 4 and All on 6 treatments here at Twoth.

As with normal teeth, coffee, as well as many other foods and drinks, can cause your All on 4 dental implants to become stained. However, this can be avoided if you commit to a regular brushing schedule, ideally brushing for two minutes, both morning and night. Those with All on 4 implants should also floss regularly to maintain white teeth and promote oral hygiene.

Please also note that you should absolutely avoid drinking coffee, tea, and hot chocolate for at least three days after your surgery has been performed. The heat in these drinks can contribute to increased bleeding, which will often disrupt and lengthen the healing process.

All on 4 implants are exceptionally durable, with data showing that the teeth attached to the implants can last for over 20 years, providing they receive the correct care. The actual implant posts themselves should never need replacing.

You can prolong the life of your All on 4 implants by taking regular trips to your dentist, brushing and flossing daily, and using a night guard to protect your teeth during sleep.

As with all medical procedures, there are some small risks associated with All on 4 implants, including infection, discolouration, and pain. However, these are rare – approximately 95% of All on 4 treatments are completely successful. Even if problems do develop, they can be effectively managed and rectified by a dentist.

No, they aren’t. All on 4 dental implants are attached directly to your jawbone, so can’t be removed, unlike dentures. The permanency of All on 4 dental implants is one of the main reasons why so many opt for this treatment.
